Hi all,
So, I was shocked to learn that I had a late payment on my US Bank card. The due date was on the 6th, and I only realized it on the 8th (and paid immediately). Long story short, I guess I thought I had auto-pay on, but I guess it wasn't - no excuses though, I take full responsibility for not making the payment on time. I called, and the rep. was very nice about it, and immediately reversed the late payment charge, but could not say how/if it would affect my credit score (which is honestly more important to me than the $29 late fee).
I believe I may have had one late payment when I was very, very young, but I've had no late/missed payments in over 12 years. Even when I was struggling financially, I've always made my credit card payments on time. I wanted to see if this will negatively impact my Fico scores or not, and if it will, by how much?
Probably nothing. Creditors don't usually report a late payment until it's 30 days past due.
Has to be 30 days late to be reported. Your main concern now is how us bank will treat you in the future.

You're going to be in the APR penalty box for a set period (likely around 29.99% APR for either 6 or 12 months, check your card agreement for the specifics in your case) and they may side eye CLI requests for a while but if you don't repeat the mistake they'll get over it.
Ahh, I see - Thanks guys. So, then I'm probably fine I guess, because I recently increased my credit line with them anyway, and I'm also on their 0% introductory term for another 8-10 months anyway.

Just be sure to check that 0% intro term like @coldfusion mentioned upthread (lates vs. apr) ....they may take it away, they may not. To be on the safe side, watch that, K? cyb
