'Giving up' to Improve Scores?

Ok, I'm kidding... for the most part. I've posted about my 6-year-old CA killing my scores. It's still there, but is due to fall off next month. Meanwhile, I've stopped obsessing over checking my scores every day and just decided to garden and continue to pay my cards on time. I still care very much about the big picture, but I'm no longer doing AZEO and I paid off my loan because I just didn't want it anymore. If that results in missing out on a few points, oh well. And... my scores have started creeping up. AMEX just doubled my CL and Best Buy just CLI'd me to $10K. I have every card I set out to get and I'm not applying for any more. I'll post updates over the next month or two and report any changes resulting from that stupid CA aging off. I feel good having accomplished what I set out to do. Let's see what happens. 😊

It's not that you're "giving up", it's that you've reached the mountaintop Smiley Happy You've accomplished what you set out to do.

But yes I do understand how good it must feel to be able to relax, and do things organically... and to still watch your scores creep up Smiley Happy

Been there done that. I was obessed with looking at scores each day. Almost got to the point of checking scores before coffee. Not good. Now? I really dont care anymore. I got what was needed. No more to worry about. Congrats on your progress and where you stand now.

^^ This.

I check my scores for entertainment, but I don't worry about them at this point in my life.

Re: 'Giving up' to Improve Scores?

Oh wow, thanks, everyone. I felt bad, like I was getting to where I didn't care anymore, but you're right. It wasn't that at all. I'm just where I set out to be. It feels great, too. I shot myself in the foot some along the way, closing doo-doo cards to app for the ones that were really important to me - the kind you see other people using and dream about getting. That kept me in INQ/AAOA purgatory, but I don't have to worry about that anymore. Now to kick back and watch my garden grow, knowing I've gotten the best cards I can get with no AF. (I've been pre-approved for CSP and others but my spending doesn't justify AF.) Thanks again! Looking forward to see what the coming months bring.
