Hi everyone,
According to my report, I'm using 81% of my revolving credit on 10 open accounts. However, I only have three open cards (plus two authorized user cards but I know those aren't counted). I have four credit cards that charged off in 2015 and were subsequenty included in a dismissed ch 13 bankruptcy. Is the algorithm including those balances even though those accounts are closed? I'm still unclear why the system shows I have 10 accounts. How do you dispute these types of inaccuracies with the credit bureaus?
Thanks.
Yes if your BK was dismissed those charge offs amounts will count towards your over debt until they are paid off. You should not be disputing accurate charge offs. You owe them
Thank you. Yes, I understand that these are my debts. I'm not attempting to dispute accurate information. I'm trying to understand the score ingredients. According to the FICO explanation in my account, this calculation is "The sum of balances being reported on open-ended accounts and/or revolving accounts that are reported as open." How is FICO defining open? Is open different from active? Charged-off accounts are no longer open or active, so I don't understand why they would be included.
Charge offs amounts are included in your utilization until they are paid off.
Thanks. That's helpful to know.
