How sparsely used is FICO 9, compared to 8, at this time ?

FICO 9 seems to be about 1-2% more generous on the scoring (at least for me).

EX: FICO 8 of 700, would be a FICO 9 of 707 or 714.

This is almost exactly 1-2% higher range, on all scoring variants, on all 3 of the agencies.

Is 8 going to be the most common for some time, or is it hitting a horizon?

Nobody can accurately say when and/or if FICO 8 will sunset.

That being said, most lenders use FICO 8 rather than 9, as of now.

OP, keep in mind that many people see the opposite of what you do... that is, their Fico 8 scores run historically higher than their Fico 9s.  It all depends on profile.

My F9s are higher *or* lower than my F8s, depending on bureau (see siggy). My SO's F9s are all lower than his F8s.

Remember, F9 also goes to 900, so the range is also a bit different.

Which 9 are you speaking of?  If you're talking Classic, it goes to 850 just like F8.  The enhanced versions for auto/bankcard to my knowledge are to 900 for both F8 and F9.

😂😂😂 yeah 9 seems to react differently to a lot of things. I think it's kind of weird, but most lenders still use 8 and we've got to see what happens with version 10. I think a lot of lenders may skip 9.

yeah version 9 is just like 8 when it comes to scoring; it goes to 850 & the industry options go to 900, like @Anonymous said.
