Just wanted to say that I was successful in asking for some old derogatory items to be taken off! I had an old 30 day and one 90 day taken off a couple of weeks ago and I already saw my score jump up by 15 points! I got the contact info from my report, called up the lender, told them I was trying to clean up my credit to buy a home, and they were nice enough to send a letter to the BIG 3 and a copy for myself requesting the items be taken off. A bit of history on these accounts, They were both closed accounts that I had closed on good terms and that I had made timely payments on for a couple of years after the derogatories. Doesn't hurt to ask, and... use a nice tone. Worked for me! Good luck!
