Bad news is the creditor is Navient. How well would either of those strategies work?
You don't know until you try. I don't know anything about Navient, but two of my creditors, Synchrony and Wells Fargo are notorious for being extremely difficult to bend with respect to GW adjustments and using the Saturation Technique I had late payments removed by both of them over time.
