Hello,
I'd would like to propose an experiment that I'll keep track and publish the results. I'd like to see how people's TU98 (myFico), TU04 (lender pulled) and TU08 (Walmart) scores correlate.
If you can respond to this thread by posting your TU scores from multiple sources within (let's say a week), I'll compile the data.
I'll start with my own case.
TU08 (Walmart) 813 on 3/29/2012, TU98 (myFico) 772 3/30/2012.
Please help by posting your scores.. ONLY if you have 2 or more of the three variants within a week.
Hopefully, over time and with enough data points, we can have a better understanding of the correlation.
on 04/01 TU 98 542, TU04 617, TU08 652
I have never received a score for TU08.
My Scores: 4/4/12
TU04 Lender Pull – 632
TU98 My Fico – 707
Husband’s Scores: 2/7/12
TU04 Lender Pull – 647
TU98 My Fico – 676

Wow, that is all over the place.
On 2/16 ( last time I got a TU04 )
704 - TU 04
667 - TU 98
ok another 100 more posts and hopefully we'll have something to chart.
Not going to be consistent. TU98 includes charge card balances in utilization calculations (Amex zync/green/gold/plat/cent). The rest of them don't.
Unfortunately it doesn't mean much w/o the detail of the credit reports =/.
i.e. I believe FICO '08 (TU08) will disregard one nuisance collection (<$100); if there's the one collection on the reports of the trivial amount (old library collection or parking ticket silliness), that would explain a discrepancy; however, if there's still a difference and nothing that falls into that category, than it is going to be something else.
Crashem and Ravelate are right on both points. However, think with enough data points, there might be something we can learn about how the differnt Tu versions correlate in large aggregate. If nothing else, it can prove that they don't correlate enough to be practical in predicting one another.
I think the other problem with the reliability of the data will be the reports not being pulled on the same exact days, we know reports can change daily and that might skew the data as well. But I'm game.
Me
4/2 TU 08 = 708
4/5 TU 98 = 695
DH
4/2 TU 08 = 708
4/5 TU 98 = 688
ETA: I think I saw a post in the Mortgage forums where people were posting their different scores too.
