My scores seem a little too "good" to me....what gives?

So I am using the term good loosely here. In any case, had a chapter 7 discharged in Nov. 2008 with no debts reaffirmed. My current mortgage is still showing as open (I am paying it), but does not show any balance or payments on the reports. I currently have two open CCs with $500 limit/each...used and paid fully each month. Now, I signed up for the free trial with TrueCredit and this is what they showed me: TU: 683, EX: 705, EQ: 709.But my grades were all Cs and Ds.

To me these scores seem high based on my history, but added to the mix is the notion of the Vantagescore. Is this simply a case where there could be a large discrepancy between the two scoring systems??

Hello and welcome.

The VantageScores you get at TrueCredit are not FICO scores and can't be compared in any way. The range of VantageScores goes from 500-990 while FICO ranges from 300-850.

No one has been able to pull their own Experian FICO score since February of 2009. Creditors can pull Experian and also there is a CU in Pennsylvania that supplies that information to it's members only. You can only buy true FICO scores at a few places. One place is here at myfico. I suggest you do an internet search for "myfico discount codes" to save a little money. You can also purchase your Equifax score at www.equifax.com (If you look hard enough) and your Transunion score at www.transunioncs.com.
