MyFico Products

I've been lurking in this Community for a while, and this is finally my first post. Smiley Happy

My head is swirling a little at what products I should buy. It seems that MyFico offers scores from just 2 of the 3 credit bureaus (Transunion and Equifax). Is there a reason Experian is missing?

Also, I'm anxiously trying to raise my credit score and would like to invest in a regular reporting of changes to my credit report and score. Is MyFico's service here worth the $14.95/month and will I get an alert anytime my score changes?

Thank you!

Hello and welcome.

I can answer one of your questions. No one has been able to buy their own Experian FICO score from any source since February of 2009. Creditors can pull Experian and also there is a CU (PSECU) in Pennsylvania that supplies that information to it's members only.

As far as credit monotoring I've never had any of those services and so I can't help you there. But I'm sure you'll get lots of different opinons about which particular site is best and for what reasons. Also if you haven't already you might check out the CMS Guide here onsite.

Re: MyFico Products

EQ Scorewatch is a good service, in my opinion.  Concerning score changes, mine does not offer this.  From my understanding, they no longer offer updates when the score changes.  if they do, then I must be missing something.  What they are good at is to let you know when anything changes (balances, utilization, new account, inquiries, etc.).

I am a member of both True Credit and Scorewatch, and the peace of mind is worth the money.  Once I get my credit where it needs to be, then I might stop using them.

Heck, give them a try for a month or two and stop if you do not like them.

Starting Score: 583 EQ, 612 EX, 569 TU
Current Score: 658 EQ, 648 EX, 618 TU
Goal Score: 720 EQ, 720 EX, 720 TU
