MyFico says I have late payments. I can’t find them!

Fair warning: I filed Chapter 7 in 2018 and Chapter 13 two years later. I have been in an active chapter 13 for over a year now.

I am taking serious steps to not make the same mistakes again and clean up my credit. I pay for the $40 a month MyFico to be able to see everything.

myFico says I have 20 late payments, all over 60 days. My mortgage became 4 months behind when I lost my job which is what lead to the Chapter 14. So I should have 4-5 of those. Fair.

I had 21 cards when I filed Chapter 7. That was just straight up irresponsibility and untreated mental illness. That was filed for credit cards alone. Before I filed, two went 30 days late. So there's two more. Many reported as charge off the month I filed my chapter 7. Are these being counted as 60+ day late? Should they be if I was never late when I filed at all and their own report goes from all OK then directly to charge off when I filed.

I go directly to the bureaus and they do not list the late payments. Just "included in bankruptcy". I want to dispute the info on MyFico if I can figure out what it is and if it is even reporting correctly but I can't dispute something not showing at the bureau itself.

TLDR: What am I missing?! I can find 4 that would be 60+ days late, and 2 that should have been reported as 30 days late. What is MyFico considering late payments? The charge offs?I never fell behind on my car and both house and car are being paid through Chapter 13 on time every month but not being reported so I can't even think MAYBE the trustee is screwing up somehow. I am confused! Help! Lol.

You are not missing anything.  It is the beyond stupid FICO scoring models.  I too filed BK in 2018.  When I filed NOTHING was late.  NOT ONE ACCOUNT.  Doesn't matter.  The fact I filed to FICO means automatically all my accounts were late even if they never reported that way. I vehemently disagree with it and believe that the scoring models should be based on all factual information but they aren't doing the scores to benefit us.  They are for the creditors who pay them for membership.  If someone else has a solution would love to hear it.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't believe the FICO scoring model calculates the lates; those are reported by the individual creditors to the three credit bureaus.

@Anonymous, have you downloaded your full credit reports from annualcreditreport.com and gone through it with a fine toothed comb?  If you haven't, then that will be your next step.

Chapter 13:

  • Burned: AMEX, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and South County Bank (now Bank of Southern California)
  • Filed: 26-Feb-2015
  • MoC: 01-Mar-2015
  • 1st Payment (posted): 23-Mar-2015
  • Last Payment (posted): 07-Feb-2020
  • Discharged: 04-Mar-2020
  • Closed: 23-Jun-2020

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

Re: MyFico says I have late payments. I can’t find them!

The thing is that when I look at the reasons for my scores, they say few accounts were paid on time and I have 20 60+ day lates. That makes it seem like they calculate using that.

I just don't get why they are saying bureaus are reporting charge offs and stuff but I don't see them on the bureau sites. And it's really irritating because anyone who will ever borrow to me uses FICO scores.

I took my credit reports off myFico that I get in my membership each month and went through those with a fine toothed comb. But I will try the annual credit report site instead.

Re: MyFico says I have late payments. I can’t find them!

Yeah. It just blows my mind that they can report it that way, say the credit bureau is reporting it that way and that if I don't agree, I have to dispute with the credit bureau. But the credit bureau doesn't show that so where the heck are they getting that info?

and every place uses FICO so FICO is the one stressing me out. Lol.

Re: MyFico says I have late payments. I can’t find them!

Pull your free credit reports from annual credit reports. If its cleaner than what you decribe. Call customer service at MyFICO and let them know. They can fix things. If by chance on your real reports you see all these lates. The BK over rules everything and creditors know thats what usually leads to BK. Good Luck!
