Now you all are getting testy. I'll just take my 800+ scores and go home.
@tacpolyOkay have it your way. FICO has absolutely no clue how to calculate the average AoOA for the folks in their “high achievers” category, even though they have the data right there in their hands. And they’ll do a willy nilly release of obviously incorrect data without any proofreading by their marketing or analytics departments — and they’ll continue keep it up on their website for the world to see. You, on the other hand, have brilliant insight, despite not seeing the actual data, and know better.
It has nothing to do with "my way." I'm simply commenting on the graph that you referenced and the observation that I made regarding it is 100% correct. There's really no argument here, unless you want to say that the graph is actually inaccurate, but that doesn't sound like the case from reading your paragraph above.
I agree with you BBS. It is hard to get actual accurate pictures of which age category get certain percentage of average above 800s based on just aged of accounts. There are so many factors especially getting better income(s) or lower incomes or no income, getting married, unexpected hospital bills.. etc etc.. It is all come down to estimation but credit scores changes anytime while the research reports only done once in a while (annually, quarterly.. etc). Anybody could increased 100 points from low 700 in just a month or two when their situation changes. Some people could also improved their scores from high 600s to low 800s in a year. The reports using the habits as criteria but habits could change too. It is not constant. By the way, some good news for me. By early June I am going to get 800ish all my credit reports. That's something I already calculated 2 months ago. The problem is the reports are extremely slow at being updated and they are still some inaccuracies that I trying to fix since Dec 2017.

I still have missing Citibank account that was deleted from eq and exp while only tu the only one added it after 4 months. Barclay for some reason hasn't send any credit card report to cc bureaus since March. How, am I supposed to get accurate scores with all these missing documents?
credit bureaus = bunch of data robbers
I joined the 80o club today!
I started my credit journey Nov 2014. My goal was to hit 800. I would have accomplished that until Comenity changed my closed total rewards visa from a credit account to a paid loan in October. It tanked my score by 22 points. I am now back up in the 770 range shooting for 800. All inquiries have fallen off as of April 28th. My credit line is around 120k. Utilization 4.5% between 2 accounts.
TU: 778
EQ: 771
EX: 768
I just found out that MyFico simulator scores doesn't match the real world scores.. Not even closed. I paid off revolving $4100 from 05/11 to 06/08 and I expected to get TU and EXP gone beyond 800 and EQ 798. However nothing change. What a downer. They didn't even reward me for aging accounts with positive scores after 3 months. The simulator is just a therapy tool to ease your mind.
Ben:
If you just paid off the account in June, it takes Fico about a month to change your scores.
Oh, never mind Ben. I see you said 'simulator fico'. My bad.
It is alright. The simulator is still not accurate however, since by now I should have two 800s. I guess I have to wait if my scores could go up because I am going to pay off around $2000 on Jun 14th. When I see several alerts popped up, it means that Credit Bureaus have updated the new existing balances on my account from credit card companies.
MyFico updates is on June 10th/11th whenever I clicked update. However, once new credit reports have been received by credit bureaus and updated, we should see immediate changes hence immediate scores increased. For example, if I pay May 31st and balance due on June 1st. The credit card updated the balance on the 2nd and turned in the report either on the 2nd or the 3rd. Credit Bureaus received reports on 6-8. By the 9th, you will see the scores updates even before you click the credit report updates. I have seen this for years now (except when I am using the free Fico scores from some credit card companies). American Express however always update the Experian Fico score 8 frequently which is awesome. So, you don't have to wait for a month to see changes in your score. They are updated once credit bureaus received the report(s).
