Welp this is me... was higher a couple weeks ago but I let a high balance post inadvertently. So... what to do next? Thinking of getting a new interesting  card or something else that might benefit me that I qualify for. Any suggestions?

Itpro:

How can  you "let a high balance post inadvertently"?  And, why do you think you need a new card?  Are you looking for higher cash back cards, or just more cards?

Re: Our Forums' FICO High Achievers: Who has at least one FICO Score of 760 or above?

Go figure...I recently opened a checking and savings account at Langley FCU in order to get the free EQ fico 08 they provide. They pulled EQ to open the acount and my score was 826. I told the CR that if they could to go ahead and add a 5k LOC for overdrafts since they had already done the HP. The underwriter declined the LOC in spite of my very high score, and all 3 are 800 or better. Reason given by phone...the balances on my existing revolving accounts was too low in relation to my available credit lines. I always thought that was the goal...to keep low utilization. So, even though low utilization is undeniably great for your credit score, and AZEO is also. It can, and in my case did, lead to a decline in a paltry 5k LOC request. First decline in new credit I've had in at least 10 years, even though I am routinely denied CLI's for the same reason. The CSR said that never had any of my revolving credit balances ever shown more than 5500 balance, with near 200k in current limits on all my revolving credit lines. The takeaway from this is that the very actions that cause my scores to be so high, can lead to app declines even with higher scores.

TU Fico 850 on 7/3/2018

First time at 850, it was 83x for several months, lowered the utilization and only 1 card reported a balance.

@newhis

Was multiple cards reporting balances and utilization over 9% holding your score down? What was your utilization (highest card and in aggregate before/after the score increase? Did you cross any aging thresholds?

After checking everything, maybe the score increase was more for my newest card going over the 1 year mark.
- 4 cards reported balance last month, 1 card this month
- 7% utilization last month, 4% this month

Next month 3 cards will report a balance and the utilization will be 2%.

AoYA reaching 12 months is significant to scoring. Many see a 15-20 point score gain. I saw about 20 points on average a few months ago when my AoYA hit 12 months.

My recent departure from a year in the garden, followed by 3 new accounts and 3 inqueries almost knocked me out of the 3x800+ fico 08 club. That experian score is hanging on for dear life having dropped 21 points to 800. Eq only dropped 4 points to 822, and TU dropped 15 points to 816....Now back to the garden I go. The flurry of activity has released the lein on my goldwing and that debt will ultimately be at 0% 18 mo BT. Has also gotten me 400 dollars SUB, but added a 95 dollar AF for a year, but increased that year from 3% to 6% for groceries I will PC back to BCE before the second AF hits. The offer was PC the BCE to BCP and get 250 bonus after 2000 spend. Great thing...no credit pull or app so even someone in the garden could do this....0 affect on score. I got 2 cards from BoA, 1 with 18 mo 0% BT and 0 transfer fee, the other was BoA fast cash reward card with 150 dollar SUB after 500 spend in 3 months. Total point cost of all 4+15+21=40 points....Total cash savings based on last years grocery use of 2000 dollars= 2000*.03=60.00...250 SUB-95AF=155 net...BoA cashback savings=150 SUB....Goldwing balance moved to 0% BT for 18 months saves 285 dollars interest. Totals....285+150+155+60=600 dollars total savings. $600/40pts=$15 earned for each point lost, and in time I'll get those points back. Comments welcome.

Great job! You are demonstrating how to use high scores to your advantage!

I do similar things with my credit. Why not take free money when it is offered to you?

Then you will receive...er...umm...well nothing, but congratulations in advance. Just don't expect a ticker tape parade, that being said, I still want an 850 score at least once.
