TU Credit Scoring

Do closed credit card accounts with negative information factor into the TU FICO score? If so, wouldn't deletions change the score?

Yes, all revolving accounts on your reports are factored into your FICO score.

When an account is deleted it might raise, lower, or not change your score at all ~ it depends on what else is on your report.

Re: TU Credit Scoring

Interesting. I'm going through credit repair and had one account update six late payments...got a ,20 pt jump. Now I have 23 late payments deleted and no movement? Perplexing. My credit file looks a lot cleaner.

It's likely that the other late pays / negatives on your report are keeping your score down ~ what are the derogatory items that remain?

Re: TU Credit Scoring

All from closed accounts, including Target and Capital One. Both were paid off earlier this year. I am not late on any accounts. These late payments occurred in 2011 and 2012. Student loans and Visa are current. My wife is adding me as an AU on a BoA credit card which has ten years of spotless history. I hope BoA actually reports it, however.
