The softs...

I just pulled my three reports from www.annualcreditreport.com mostly to see the softs. I monitor TU and EQ through myfico and have EX monitoring from my employers due to a data loss incident, so for me the main news from my annual freebies is who softs me. Basically the same as last year:

EXP: Amex, Chase, Citi, and AT&T pulled account review

EQ: Citi and Wells Fargo pulled account review. Cap One and some clothing catalog outfit did promotional pulls.

TU: Discover pulled account review.

Note that my Chase card was originally with First USA, which got acquired by Bank One, which in turn got acquired by Chase. Card has said Chase for many years, but apparently they still flag former First USA accounts internally because their softs are still reported by EXP as "First USA" rather than as "Chase."

Also, it's never been clear to me why Wells Fargo bothers with Account Review pulls: they acquired our mortgage when WAMU sold most of their prime-rate mortgages to Wells Fargo at the height of the bubble so they could go after subprime stuff, and this mortgage is the only relationship my wife and I have with WAMU. So I don't see what value the information could be to WF? They've already paid a lump sum to WAMU to get our fixed-rate mortgage, and now are just collecting our payments, so even if negative information did suddenly appear on our credit, what could they do besides hope we keep paying them on time?
TU 791 02/11/2013, EQ 800 1/29/2011 , EX Plus FAKO 812, EX Vantage Score 955 3/19/2010 wife's EQ 9/23/2009 803
EX always was my highest when we could pull all three
Always remember: big print giveth, small print taketh away

They may be contemplating sale of the loan to another, and want to see the marketability of your loan.  Who knows.
