Who can submit and what kind of information can go on your CR?

Is there a cut off as to who can submit information and what kind of information to the CRAs to go on your credit report? Can a regular consumer report information to be included in their own or someone else's CR?

Re: Who can submit and what kind of information can go on your CR?

Anyone can report to the CRAs if it is negative information.  Some things, like utilities, cable, cellphones etc, aren't reported unless negative.

Not sure what you are asking in the second part but, no, your information is not on someone elses unless it is a spouse and there are laws that apply to the hows and whens of that.

Sometimes mistakes are made and others information could end up on yours and vice versa.

+1. As long as a company has an agreement with a CRA they can report. Not all companies report to all three CRAs but many do.

You can update a "consumer statement" to your report but that's the extent of what you can add.
