paid creditor/ still in collections

I paid in full a leased computer 7 years ago, a call was placed to let them know but they said it was in collections. Two days ago a law firm sent collection letter.This issue has never been on my cr and still is not.

Advice please.

You need to dispute the collection with the CRA's as well as the collection agency.  If they keep reporting the collection and keep sending you letters you may have recourse under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  Many of these collection agencies are real slimy and report lots of misinformation.  Also, they try and collect on old purchased debts that have already been paid off.
