This is NOT a good credit monitoring system to be subscribed to. I was subscribed to myFico for only a few days and I noticed I wasn't getting alerts about my Equifax report. (I'm also currently subscribed to TrueCredit and I had gotten an alert that 2 new items had posted to my Equifax report throught them.) Now why hadn't myFico alerted me since Equifax is the only credit bureau they were monitoring? I wrote an email and asked about the lack of alerts and what the problem was, and if it couldn't be fixed, then cancel my membership. Well, a couple of days pass and no reply to my email. I go to log onto myFico today and my account for Scorewatch has been closed!
They went ahead and closed it without emailing me or calling me about it. I called and talked to a representative who then informed me that it takes 3 DAYS to receive an alert about anything that posts to your credit report . I told the rep. that it doesn't state that anywhere on their website, or else I wouldn't have subscribed to their product. He claims it's in the terms of agreement and use. I looked and there is NOTHING on there stating a 3 DAY delay/wait to receive alerts. I asked for a refund because I felt that I was misled and misinformed about their product and I'm told I can't get one.
So I feel that I got ripped off big time and as long as they got their money they don't give a **bleep** about representing their so called credit-monitoring product in an honest way. I'm going to stick with TrueCredit because their 3 bureau monitoring is top-notch. I can't say the same about their credit score reporting because I don't agree with the formula they use to compute scores, and my score with them is much lower than what myFico says it is. But anyway, had a bad experience with myFico and will never give them my business again even if they did fix their credit-monitoring alerts to work faster, because they treat their customers very poorly.
I had applied for a Discover card recently and I got an alert the next day that I had an inquiry on my Transunion report. So yeah, I can say that TrueCredit alerted me a lot quicker and I consider that more acceptable than waiting three days for an alert, like from myFico. I was also approved last month for a vehicle loan through the bank I work at and received an alert the next day of my bank pulling my Transunion credit report. I don't know why you aren't receiving alerts more quickly with True Credit, but at least you're having better luck with myFico ScoreWatch than I was. You are receiving your alerts quicker with myFico, right? I would have loved to keep ScoreWatch because like you said, it's $5 cheaper, but I guess I gotta stick with what works for me, which is TrueCredit 3 Bureau Credit Monitoring.
Thanks for sympathizing with me IIecs, I appreciate it. After my bad experience I really needed to vent my frustrations.
IIecs, I should clarify that when I say "alert", I don't mean an alert sent to my email. I log into TrueCredit almost everyday and I was getting the alert notice on my TrueCredit homepage. When I was logged into myFico, I wasn't even getting an alert on my ScoreWatch home page. I know that it takes a few days to receive the alert via email through TrueCredit, but if you log onto your account it will immediately alert you on your homepage.
I looked at the myFico Scorewatch product description and one of the benefits listed is: "Monitors your credit report at Equifax on a daily basis and your FICO® score on a weekly basis."
With that kind of claim I was expecting immediate alerts when I logged into myFico, like what I get with True Credit. It's too bad I signed up for True Credit after they did away with the daily pulls on all 3. I didn't know that they offered that before, but I guess I'm lucky I signed up after the fact, or I'd be venting about that as well, and I certainly can't miss that feature if i never had it.
