Re: Incorrect by Suze's FICO, but correct on Experian?

jackg,

Mmmmmm, so what you are saying is that choices in this forum such as using font size, bold, italics, strike throughs, smileys, hyperlinks, etc., are not meant to be used in this forum?  If you feel this way, then I suggest you should resist the urge to add a picture of trees because maybe that is boring or politically offensive to others, (as in tree-hugger).  If I look over these posts, and I count the number of emails I have received about this, I can tell you others feel the way I do. Right in this very forum, there actually ARE other posts in regard to this subject and similar incidents have happened and when I called the Federal Trade Commission, they had an opinion OPPOSITE of yours.  In addition, if only short posts were what the owner of the forum wanted to generate, the ability to contribute longer posts certainly would not be available.  In regard to digestion, perhaps it is you who should sit down and digest what Suze Orman represents on TV shows like the Oprah program and other numerous visits on other PBS shows. I suggest to you that if on those programs, she explained that in her version of credit reports, the program would produce them in such a way that they would add negative verbage, no one would have even gone to her site to obtain a credit report.  Also I took that report to my banker yesterday and showed it to him and he states their poor excuse (programming problems)  is ridiculous, and that if a "programming problem" existed, the intelligent programmer, who should understand the sensitivity of credit reports and how people feel about them,  would simply program this kind of "bug" OUT as it has no place in a credit report. You can say what you want about the posting and I encourage you to exercise your opinion, but in regard to postings and choices or preferences, perhaps if it were your credit report you paid $50 for, your opinion would be different. If you don't like the post, then move on and read another as there are many good things to read on this forum.  I have read many posts on this forum and it seems these posting styles are not prohibited, including your choice of tree as a reflection of who you apparently are.  I doubt Suze would have any people watching her programs if she told people upftont on TV that an unrated account would add the word "bankruptcy" to what she has represented to be the information in the TU or any other report. If the programmer wants to add words, one can only wonder why they would use words that are, in the world of credit reports, negative rather that nuetral or positive. Smiley Very Happy  I wish you the best the forest has to offer, but you know what they say, "if a tree falls in the forest, who hears it?"

Re: Incorrect by Suze's FICO, but correct on Experian?

Hello Brammy
Thanks for your informative comments. RE: "the info that was transmitted with TU codes did not play well with this system."

One would think that if Suze and her people knew this, they would program around that.  When my banker looked at that yesterday, he states this could have easily been avoided by a smart programmer.  I have no objection to an account saying "unrated", it's the negative inference of the word that was added that is objected to.   It's true a creditor would most likely pull a credit report from TU, EXP or EFX, but when one is self-employed and is making investments, etc., it looks good to pull your own credit report dated the day of the appointment with the other investors or partners, so that a you are able to more easily gain the trust of the other parties in the investor group. Suze has gone on and on about pulling the credit reports from HER system because no points come off the score for pulling the report. You can bet I would not do this again, as it was a waste of $50 for me.  Thank you for your non-judgemental comments, much appreciated.

The resulting miscoding is a direct result of the info TU sends not FICO.  Im sure you realize this since it seems your reports are generating correctly from the other two bureaus.

Now on to the other issue.  I apologize if you were offended by the pp's request that the post be shorter.  I often ask the same thing in order to be able to digest the information and give a decent answer.  So many posts that its easier to take it in short bites.  As far as the bold and large font, it is a simple matter of nettiquette, such as shouting by All Caps and such.

This board is really designed to help get answers for any questions that you may have but the shorter the question, the more responses you' re likely to receive, even if there are a million questions.  You would be surprised how many people's expertise are in different areas and that you may not get the complete answer from one response when the post has many questions.

Re: Incorrect by Suze's FICO, but correct on Experian?

Brammy
If this is true, and they know this, why not program around this, especially when I am apparently not the only person who has had inaccuracies?  This is not a hard thing to do.  It simply takes the knowledge that the program causes this glitch and a short re-writing of the program.  My anger also has to do with John, the so-called manager, who very inappropriately tried to get me to believe this was all my fault because I am the one who made the choice of buying that particular product!!!.  (myFICO Platinum kit).  To be told this is my fault because I did not select a different product and if I had only done that, none of this would have happened was ridiculous and very poor customer service.  I have owned 3 businesses in the last 28 yrs. , 2 of which were open for over 20 yrs. and did very well. Any time I would have received a call about some type of problem, I certainly would not have blamed the customer and that IS what they tried to pull on me.   So be it... as a consumer with websites, and other avenues in life to express myself and share information, such as thousands of insurance clients, you can bet when they bring their troubles to me, I will certainly warn them to never get a report from this entity, because one cannot depend on it being correct and I thought this was what a credit report was really about. (accuracy).  Appreciate your comments.

Re: Incorrect by Suze's FICO, but correct on Experian?

Ok Sunset,

The products you buy here are simply for your edification.  No lender sees your FICO reports in the same format.  HTH.

No lender gets a Suze report and if you are dealing with a lender that has no idea of what they are looking at, you really should be dealing with someone else.  There are many FICO products on the market, from auto enhanced to bankcard enhanced to bankruptcy risk.  Depending on the lenders needs that will be the report they get and these reports contain lots more information than suze's does.

The products sold to the general public are basically in order for the CONSUMER to get an understanding of what FICO scoring contains and are in no way meant for use by lenders.  Most consumers would be dumfounded ookng at a lender report in comparison to a comsumer report as shown here.  At least without a crash course in what all the little notations and codes mean.

Hi sunsets,

While I appreciate your participation in the Forums and rather enjoy your writing style, I have to agree with jackg as I try to wade through your posts in an effort to help with the negative situation you've experienced.  The sheer length of your posts makes it difficult to sort out your specific issues well enough to act on them.  (I wish I had the time to read them in their entirety but I just don't.)Smiley Happy

Perhaps if you'd like to PM me with a very brief description of the problem(s) I'll contact our customer service folks and have someone get back to you?

I hope to hear from you in (an abbreviated form) so I can help.

Thanks!

Barry
