SW EQ Score Error???

On 5/21/2011, I had a $1004 revolving balance which was about 52% of my total util. I used the FICO sim and it said if I paid down 950, I will be tween 633 and 673.

I know Cap One wasnt reporting my balance correctly so I disputed it and on 6/14/2011, Cap One corrected my balance to $30 like it should be. But I didn't gain any points at all. I went from a 52% util to 2% util. I can't imagine that I didn't gain any points from that. Also I never got a SW alert saying that ther was a change to my EQ report.

I just bought a SW report and it shows the Cap one balance at $30, but no alert and no change in score at all.

I went from 623 to 640 from two other accounts but not Cap One. Is there something I might be missing here? Am I being impatient?

Re: SW EQ Score Error???

Is this your only CC?

Is CapOne currently showing a dispute comment in the TL?

Re: SW EQ Score Error???

I've had the same issue as I incresed my CL with Cap 1 and paid the balance down to $569 on a 1,200 CL. I also had my other CC reporting $0 bal on a $300 CL. I did not recieve a SW alert but got curious and bought my TU FICO 5 days after it updated on my CMS for all 3 bureaus. My TU shot up over 50 points. So I called myFICO and had the CSR look into it because  i definetly should have seen a jump on EQ. She gave me a score power report credit and there it was, it did increase. Something was up with the SW update process. I know its working properly now as I got 1 today.

This is the only card with a balance. I have two others with 0 balance. So my combine util was 52%.

I had to dispute it with EQ to have Cap One report the correct balance ($30). FOr 2 months I called Cap One and they didn't update until I disputed it about 5 days ago.

But yes in my new SW report despite being resolved, it still says 'Consumer disputes .....' Could that be causing a no-alert with SW?

I havent checked TU yet.

Re: SW EQ Score Error???

If that comment remains, FICO will not score the balance or the CL which would explain why you haven't been alerted to any score changes, assuming all else is equal. You should get an alert once that comment changes and if your score changed, then you might get a score  alert at that time or shortly thereafter.

I'm glad i'm not the only one having this problem. Although when i bought my EQ SW report  it showed my correct balance now after 2 months of battling cap one. But i went from a total util of 52% to 1%, I didn't get either an alert for a change in my credit report or in score.

I called myfico support and explained to her that the last time I bought my SW score, my score was 623 and it's now 640 NOT due to cap one. I told her that my score should have gone up a lot but she kept telling me that that's that's not correct. I was telling her that maybe the SW system is just late in reporting etc.

In order for Cap one to report that correct balance, i had to dispute it.

LS:

What you're saying is that you TU was reporting fine but your EQ took time to report?

Is there a way to make that comment go away since it has been resolved?

Re: SW EQ Score Error???

I'd give them 45 days [from the initial dispute date] to get the comment to disappear. Once that threshold has passed, then I'd contact the CRA and ask them to remove it (seems like it is a relatively painless process if I read right).

Re: SW EQ Score Error???

Thats stinks now since the only way I could have captial one update the right amount was to dispute via EQ. If they updated that they should, my score would have shot up by at least 20-40 points as the sim said
