I was approved today for CSP. I keep reading about people app'ing for multiple Chase cards within a certain time frame. What is the benefit of that and should I carry more than one of their products at the same time? Is it just one hard inquiry? For me they pulled EX. Thank you for your valuable input.
Chase will allow for up to 2 approvals for either personal cards or business cards in a 30 day period. Of course you still have to meet all the other criteria like 5/24 and your credit would have to be strong enough to warrant another approval. It will likely be another hard pull but you can always call to see if they can use the recent pull, all they can tell you is no.
First, congrats on your new CSP!
Second, if you are reading about this type of apping elsewhere, it's likely something referred to as "MDD" which is double dipping. This is somewhat discouraged here on myFico for good reason. It's suggested that one would apply for a second similar product the next day after approval within a certain time period to avoid a second reported inquiry and trick the SUB's. I strongly recommend you steer away from this if you a looking to build a strong and authentic relationship with Chase as the very well could flag one of the approvals and overturn the decision.. or worse. It's best to stick to the recommended avenues of applying... but YMMV

@Ladyk06, I would wait 60-90 days. (if it were me)
Chase will be Soft pulling your reports as to watch for "credit seeking"
While some have got away with 2 cards in a short time, others have had one or both shut down.
Chase don't play around! ...So you have to ask yourself -> is it worth it?
Just giving you my honest opinion,
and what I have observed for four years and 2,311,387 messages read on the forum.
Congrats on your new CSP!
congrats on the approval!
My DP, i was approved for the CSP on 3/3 followed by an approval on the CFF on 3/7, so it's possible.
I would go with @M_Smart007 remarks and be grateful with the one approval and wait 60-90 days before applying again as they WILL be SP'ing your credit alot next few weeks to make sure you are going on an application spree as they certainly have in both cases closed down more than one card with them within a short period of time and also on other case close card if they see other cards approved in short period of time as well. Depends how much worth it to your own risk tolerance along with credit profile, etc.
Thank you everyone for your VALUABLE input! I learn a lot from reading and posing questions in these forums. Even though my current situation can support another product from Chase I have no desire to obtain another one of their products right now. The CSP is one of their top tier cards so I think I did good the first time. Now with that being said.....CHASE sent me ANOTHER Pre-Approval the next day for their Sapphire Reserve card. 🤣
Congratulations on your CSP approval!
Thank you!
