I'd been looking at this card for a while, and debating whether to get it card for balance transfers in conjunction with my new Barclays Red card. Today I finally decided to pull the trigger, and got approved for $3,500 with a 17.99% APR.
I understand it may be a month or more before it comes in the mail. I can probably request balance transfers before then. If I don't, I believe the 0% APR period can start when I receive and activate the card if I request that (if they don't do that automatically). I'll call tomorrow and check.
I've never done an app spree before, and I know getting a bunch of new cards within a month will ding my scores. But I'm also expecting the scores to recover over the next 6 months or so, and for these accounts and their CLs to benefit my score over the long run, especially as I pay off my existing balances.
Equifax was pulled, FICO 8 score there before the HP was 713. AAoA 2 years 11 mo, AOoA 9 years 3 mo, 13 revolving accounts, 16% utilization. Inquiries are 4/12 and 4/24.
My Chase 5/24 status is now proudly LOL/24 (technically 12/24), and I don't expect to be applying for any Chase cards until sometime after the next presidential election. Perhaps I'll celebrate St. Patrick's Day in 2025 or 2026 by applying for a Sapphire Preferred or Reserve. 😁
Thanks for those data points @LADave and Congratulations on the PenFed Approval!

Thank you @Zoostation1! And also to @SpaceCityCCuser, @JoeRockhead, @Hut1, @NoMoreDebt, @Rebuild2019 and @CreditMagic7 .
More data points: Since my original post, I got the famous "Your Credit Report(s) and the Price you Pay for Credit" letter from PenFed and it shows I had an Equifax score of 727 on a scale between 300 and 850. From this, I believe it's probably a FICO 9 score, since it's quite a bit higher than the free Eq FICO 8 score I have from myFICO, which is 713 (reported on 2/26/23).
The baddies holding my score down:
Time is the greatest healer on the first and second items, and payments and discipline will help numbers 3 and 4.
Congratulations on the new card!
