Worth it to try and goodwill?...

I have an older paid collection with CCS. Date of first delinquency is 5 years 8 months. If I recall correctly it should fall off after 7, correct?

If it does fall off at 7 should I even bother trying to goodwill it off?

It's only on Equifax and it's my only collection overall. EQ FICO is currently 773.

Thoughts?

Welcome @headabovewater

Yes 7 yrs after the DoFD it will be deleted. CCS isnt known to delete like Portfolio and Resugent. Dont know know until you try. If the original creditor owned it and sold it to CCS. GW CCS. If CCS was collecting for the original creditor. Then GW the OC. Who's the OC?

Re: Worth it to try and goodwill?...

Progressive isnt easy. Either wait it out. Or call and settle. Old enough for a lower payoff percentage. Good Luck!

Since you're at 773, it's not hurting you too badly. So I would vote to let sleeping dogs lie.

That's what I'm leaning towards. I read somewhere that FICO basically ignores paid collections. I hope that's accurate.

It varies from scoring model to scoring model. But since it's not hurting you much, let it be.
