@Apexdv wrote:I'm wondering if selecting "Too old..." goes through some sort of automation first whereas "Other" goes to a rep/researcher? Looking at posts where people have waited a while it seems all if not most selected "Other" whereas most who were granted an immediate EE selected the "Too old..." option.
From what I've been reading here in the forums lately that seems to be the common thread when people get it removed instantly. It's super easy for automation to say "is it too old? beeble bobble beeby boop (those are supposed to be calculation noises) yup. delete." vs it going into a queue for a human to manually do it.
This morning I finally received the results from the TU EE request: "Verified as accurate" ... UGH!!! Basically, they ran it through as a dispute even though I noted the entry with "This is NOT a dispute ... I am NOT disputing accuracy". Apparently, the notes are there only to fill screen space? lol
Immediately after, I verified my DoFDs with annualcreditreport dot com and went back for another jab at the EE. *This* time I selected "Too old to be on report" as the reason. 15 seconds after hitting the submit button the baddie was gone. Lesson learned: with a TU EE stay away from the "Other" button and always hit "Too old to be on report". This way the fancy computing machines do all the work instead of schlepping your file over to some person located wherever in whatever part of the world.
PS - I hope this wasn't a crosspost ... mods: slap my wrist if it is :-/ ........ TU EE Don't hit the "Other" Button
Got another CO TL deleted today. Happy dance ensued. My TU is *almost* completely clear and I couldn't be happier. And it's 100% due to all the pointers, tips, and encouragement I've received here. Thanks!
Congrats!
This coming Saturday will be 6 months less 1 day for the remaining baddies on my TU and I'm basically giddy. I spoke with my CU and they are checking to see if they will simply zero out the $130 as it is only account fees (racked up while in hospital) then delete the TLs - they said they'll get back to me midweek with the answer. Either way, they said they will delete the TL once the balance is zero but only because I had a long relationship with them of approx 16 years so this is excellant news. However, I will take a ding on AAoA once gone.
Overall, hopefully by Saturday evening my TU will be 100% baddie free and reporting only positive 100% on-time TLs. This has been a long road to follow but my goal is finally going to happen ... and I'm absolutely thrilled. By July my EX will be 100% clean thanks to 3 month EE and EQ will come a short time later (no EE for them blerg).
[EDIT] PS - I'll pull my TU FICO from here prior to submitting my EE request so that I have some DP to peek at.
You're well on your way, good to see your progress!
Today was the 6 months (less one day for good measure) date for 2 of the 3 remaining baddies on my TU. It was Portfolio Recovery and Capital One both of which are beyond my state's SOL - in fact I have no baddies (except for the CU) within SOL. So ... with my steaming cup of coffee as black as my heart, as my ex says, I puttered onto TU's site and submitted the two for deletion using the "Too old to be on report" option. Previously, my email would *ding!* almost immediately. Nothing. *sips coffee* Still nothing. So I'm thinking, well crap, it's gone to a human for some reason and they'll just validate. I navigated over to the previous disputes and whaddyaknow ... it was listed as completed. Both Removed! yAy!!!!!
The Cap1 was only $216 so I'm thinking I will reach out to them to PIF so that I may be back in their good graces even with it being 6.5 years old. Thoughts on this? Do you think this will remain in their memory if not paid?
This leaves only a CO with my credit union of 16 years for $130. The amount is 100% monthly bank fees which occurred while I was in hospital for a long duration. I've spoken with the CU and they indicated they will either remove the charges and delete the TL or request I PIF then delete ... either way is a good thing however, they indicated it would be up to 60 days for me to hear their decision so I'm patiently waiting on that. Once this last little piddly item is removed I will be 100% positive on my TU (EX will be 100% positive in July).
I pulled my FICO prior to the deletion and found I was at 548 ... ugh. After the deletion I received a whopping 89 point burst bringing me to 637. Nice score bump! Considering the CU CO is less than 2 years old I'm sure it is hitting hard and once gone I imagine I'll get another significant bump. I do have to keep in mind the AAoA will drop significantly as the CU is listed as 16 years and all my new and current accounts are less than 2 years old so I'm sure that will impact FICO for a while.
Thanks again to all on this board for the help, suggestions, and encouragement. I couldn't have done it without you :-)
Pics or didn't happen ...
So just a quick update ... seeing as GS/Apple uses TU I hit the buttons on the 'ole iPhone and now I'm in the Path to Apple program. I honestly didn't expect this so it was actually a great feeling. The goals they indicated are: Resolve your past due balances quickly: they cited the $130 CO from my old credit union and is a CO under 2 years old (still waiting to hear back from them), Make all your required payments on time - continue for 6 months: I believe they're looking at my AAoA for my open/current/positive TLs which are all well under 2 years of age, Lower your credit card and personal loan debt to under $602: I screwed up - My Mission Lane Visa with a 750CL ran up to 700 with usual usage. I submitted a payment to take it down to $50 prior to reporting but apparently they either reported mid-cycle or I got my report date wrong *doooF!*.
Anyways, all three of these items I'll be able to do without issue so hopefully in October I'll reapply and get approved
Worked for me a couple of days ago. Got Navy Fed off my transunion report. Was due in Oct and is gone now.
