BOA 99/500

Hello all,

I'm wanting to get the 99/500 card to continue to build my credit.  My question is what card is the best card to apply for with BOA to get the 99/500 to be offered if I do not get the card applied for.  I have been with BOA for about 4 years with a Checking and Savings.  I don't know if that helps anything?  I have a great income and some good trade lines including a mortgage, however due to a bk and a couple of baddies from 5 months ago my scores are from 550 to 600.

Re: BOA 99/500

Id say wait your baddies is too recent you need more time of Good payment history so that your score can increase. You dont want to be unsure of not getting the card and taking a hard inq. I think a score of 620 and above is ideal for applying in joint with recent lates being over 6mths. IMO Gl theres no rush and if you wait u might get a better CL and unsecured!

Re: BOA 99/500

Would anyone recomend just applying for the all out secured BOA card instead of the 99/500?

Re: BOA 99/500

With a recent BK, I'd say do not app for any cards with BofA. They are not BK friendly and you may not even get an offer for the fully secured card let alone the 99/500.

You could also try their pre-approval site to see if you qualify for the secured. It will be a soft inquiry so no other creditors will see it but you.

Just to clarify BK is 4 years old.  Site did say I was pre-qualfied for the secured card.

Re: BOA 99/500

Any chance of going for the fully secured and getting countered with the 99/500?

Re: BOA 99/500

I just got the fully secured with a bk in 2005.  Rep told me that 99/500 was offered to those with marginal credit but no bk.  Fully secured to those with a bk.  I say go for it.  Great rebuilder card.

I just applied for the secured card sent my application in the mail last week. How long does it take before you get a response also did you ask them how long do you have to wait until your secured card graduate's to the Unsecured card.
