So I called them and they said they need a copy of my Social Security card and will send me a letter - CSR also commented on the amount of new credit and I explained that I only received my SSN a year ago (immigrant from the UK) hence why I only applied for credit in the last year... we'll see
I'd been thinking of apping for this one since I get my gas at Kroger all the time for the dime savings (also where I grocery shop) but after seeing above posts, I'm really hesitant.
Current EQ Fico is 691...down a little from re-fi inq and new acct.
I have a PR for paid state tax lien (wont drop til 04-11) and I have a CO due to drop 06-10.
All other accounts have perfect pyt history, 20% utilization, average age 5 yrs.
I do, however, have new cc accts from 10-08 and 12-08, car loan 11-08 and now re-fi as of 03-08.
Is a PR the same as a judgement? And how many new accounts did they consider "too many"??
What was your score when you applied?

Just an update, I was denied for the Fred Meyer Rewards Card. CSR said I have credit already. I said, "yes, yes I do. But I don't have double points and extra savings on gas when I shop at Fred Meyer and I want to axe 2 other cards." She didn't respond to that and said, "and what about these medical collections." I said, "They are all past the statute of limitations. I would pay, but don't see any advantage to it at this point as they would not fall magically off my credit report." Just being honest. I also pointed out I haven't had any negatives in over 3 years. She said she couldn't approve me and said I could get a free copy of my credit reports. I told her I know exactly what is on it and hung up.
I guess I was kind of mad, but they dangled that preapproval at the register and I couldn't resist. I am really mad because they also declined me just over a year ago, too.

I wouldn't waste the inquiry andpossible denial. From what you listed, we have very similar history/reports, and I was denied. Take it for its worth..CCC's treat similar people differently all the time. A PR is the same as a judgement as far as I know, and my paid judgement was the reason I was denied, even though my recent history is great.
