Just cancelled my Experian Credit Check Total (CCT) subscription.

I just cancelled my Experian Credit Check Total (CCT) subscription.  They don't update daily and they don't report exactly what's on your credit report with the other CRA's.  I have two loans through my CU that are Installment type loans, and they insist on reporting them as Revolving.  They're fairly new loans (June 09) where I refinanced to get my sister off the loans to help her out, so you can imagine what this looked like on their site.  Kind of like two maxed out credits cards.  What a joke and a waste of money.  Good riddens and goodbye!!!

CCT does not choose how they report information off your credit reports. If they are reporting as a revolving trade line on your screen, then the CRAs are reporting this as a revolving trade line. I have not used CCT and am un-sure if they are a daily puller.

You can't blame them for the reporting issue though; they just report the information they have.

Well, one thing that can happen with report resellers is that they receive the correct info, but the data doesn't map over correctly. It depends on how the data fields are matched between the source reports and the reseller reports. Otherwise, if the underlying report is wrong, then so will be the reseller report, of course.

OP, be sure to look at the full reports, the ones you directly pay the bureaus for, and make sure that the loans are reporting as such. These full reports are the source documents, and they're the ones that count. If they're OK there, then it's a data mapping problem with CCT..

I didn't have CCT, but I do have CreditSecure, also an Experian product that advertises daily updates, and I know for a fact that they don't update every time you pull. I've pulled full reports that show a new balance, and THEN pulled a CS report, which showed the old balances. Including the old Experian balances, which I thought was pretty lame. You'd think they'd at least get that right. As best as I can tell, they do batch updates maybe every 10 days or so.

It looks like genuine daily updates got too expensive for the resellers. Once TrueCredit backed off to only updating TU on a daily basis, all the rest pretty much followed. It was great for me back in the day, because I was doing a lot of work on util and so forth, and TC was worth every penny.

Nowadays, I don't know how people know if their updated balances have been posted yet, unless they just keep back-dooring their full reports. And if enough people do that very frequently, that option will end, too, I'd say.

haulingthescoreup,

what do you mean by "unless they just keep back-dooring their full reports."  How is this done.  I have CCT and Transunion ( for some reason no can pull my transunion score, it states not enough info to generate a score)  I  check them daily.

Hauling,

I agree, I too had TC before the change and it was great.  The daily pulls were nice when I was knee deep in credit repair.  Now I'm down to trying to get just one last HIPAA item removed from TU and EX so it's not that big a deal.  I switched to CCT after TC cancelled the daily's and haven't cared for it since day one.  Then to find out I wasn't getting what I was paying for.  Well I don't need them.

I did find out something interesting though.  The same accounts that are reporting incorrectly on CCT, are also reporting incorrectly on myFICO.  I have a thread going on this under the Product board as well.  Everything for the two accounts is reporting correctly on EQ, so I don't know why they're not on CCT or myFICO.  Maybe it is a mapping problem as you suggest.  We'll have to wait and see.  Thanks!!!

Re: Just cancelled my Experian Credit Check Total (CCT) subscription.

CCT has a great feature in which you can make sure if the EX data is correct.  Click on DISPUTE and then on EXPERIAN.  This will allow you to pull a new Experian full report to see if it matches the CCT version.  If it does, then you need to contact your lender and ask them to correct the way they are reporting.  You can also dispute through the CRA's.

this is how the TU report can be "back-doored" as well, for those who were asking
