Just to give some background, I am currently rebuilding and 8 months from BK dismissal. I started rebuilding in December 2015. Started with a Fingerhut 200 SL, now at 600. Opened a capital one secured card with 200 SL and QS1 with 500 SL. I use the QS1 alot and recently got a CLI to 3K  . Also last month I was approved for 3 store cards (Amazon 800 SL, Walmart 250 SL, and TJmaxx 300 SL. For now I am done apping and want to grow my current limits. I know I will close my secured cap 1 card in the next month or so as it seems it served its purpose. I would like to avoid apping too soon for the platinum so I dont get another toy limit (<1k). My question is at what point should I app for the Platinum (in 6 months, 1 year, etc..)? Should I wait until I get CLIs on my synch cards? Any advice is much appreciated.  ... View more

I need some advice on how to manage my cards moving forward. I am totally in the rebuilding phase, 6 months out of a Ch 13 (2nd BK :( ) and I am really trying to navigate these cards to improve my profile. Recently I was approved for a few new cards and I received a CLI on my QS1 so I think now I need to garden and manage what I currently have. My tactic for the QS1 was to use it heavy and pay it off monthly. My SL was only 500, so I maxed it out 3-4 times per month, paying it off every time. My new limit is now 3k. Since this is likely a factor in why I recieved the CLI I am assuming I should continue this trend. It has been years since I have had credit cards so I am totally lost. I have the following cards:    QS1 $3000 Capital One secured $200 FIngerht $600 Amazon (new) $800 TJMaxx (new) $300 Wamart (new) $250   Should I carry a small balance, PIF, leave 10% on the card?? Hi all! I am in the process of rebuilding my credit for the 100th time. I feel like I've been out of the credit scene for years since I filed Ch. 7 (2012) and Ch. 13 (2014). I am trying to hard to make better choices and improve my credit. So far I have the following new accounts: ● Fingerhut w/ SL 200 (limit increased to 600) ● Capital One secured w/ limit of 200 ● Capital One QS1 w/ limit of 500 How should I manage these cards with the purpose of increasing my scores?. They currently hover between 590-610. Should I carry a small Balance or PIF and let a 0 Balance report. If my due date is 5/2, when does the balance report? Should I use heavily throughout the month and makeep multiple payments. Obviously these are low limits so I was thinking of using them for bills and paying them off every month. I know there are a ton of threads regarding the CitiBank Secured Credit Card. I am wondering how many of you have been approved for this card with a previous BK. I have a Ch 7 and Ch 13 on my record, and I am in the process of rebuilding my bruised credit. My first BK is 4 years old and the second is 2 years old from filed (paid in full Dec 2015).
