How can I move forward? Help with auto loan

Took this year off from college(will return in the fall), to rebuild my credit and secure a car. But right now in my small town in jersey and nearby areas, there are literally no jobs(from the already small pool of jobs that college students qualify for), unless I have a car to get to them. Also no help from relatives Smiley Sad

Myfico reports 667 equifax(about 2 year credit history thus far)

no baddies

current student loan with no late payments

1 cc with zero balance or negative information

The problem is dealers and lenders need to see verifiable income to even get into a car. I need a car to get a job, but I also need a job so I can report the income. If I can get some type of loan and get a car, I can get a job fairly easily and I would not care if it is a beater. I feel like I will be stuck in this loop forever, do I have any other options?

Not even the lowest level 'buy here/pay here' used car dealers will do in house financing without income.  You simply are too much of a risk to loan money to on the basis that you will 'probably' get a job once you get the loan.  Save a grand, get a beater.  What about a night shift somewhere that you can borrow a family car while they are at home and sleeping?

yeah I figured that's my only option at this point as far as I know. And unfortunately I don't have any family members who can lend me their car

I have to agree with Jutz here. No lender is going to loan you money to buy a car without income or the pretence that you "may" get a job. A lender needs income to determine your spending power. I'm not sure what city you live in but you may want to consider public transit or carpool for now.

As of 2017, rebuilding...

In my senior year in college, I was able to finance a brand new 2001 Prelude through Honda finance but I was working a part time internship making $21 an hour with guaranteed employment after graduation. I think you will need to show proof of income. Not sure if they will do it with a cosigner or not.
