Wow, well some great news to share and thought it may be helpful to everyone. Similar to my Capital One story of having that card for 9 years and finally getting a CLI, thanks to these forums, I'm now 2 for 2 with my US Bank Cash +.
Back Story:
I've been a customer of US Bank since '93 and I was 7 when I had opened my first account (previously Firstar). I opened my US Bank Cash Rewards Platinum card in 2005 with a credit limit of around $3,000. About two years later it was raised to $5,200 and stayed dorment for years after. During my Capital One challenges, I thought "why not work on this card too?"
I reached out to the front-line CSR and was able to do a product change to US Bank Cash Plus Visa Signature (there was some discrepencies on various CSRs who some said I was getting a Platinum version while others said I'd get the Visa Sig and it ended as a Visa Sig). The card arrived with the same APR and tradeline as before. I then reached back out to cardmember service and requested a CLI due to my history with the bank, payment history, and that it was embarrassing that Chase's initial CL on my CSP with only a few years of history banking with them (I use both Chase and US Bank) was higher than my Cash Plus. The CSR noted that it may or may not be a HP and only would be one should it need review. I asked for $8,000 and was told I would receive a letter in 7-10 days. Thankfully no HP came up on my CR.
The letter came and stated that I was ineligible for a CLI due to a recent change in my current limit. I believe what threw off the system was having the card go from $5,200 to NPSL/$5,200. They used my last TU CR on file at 781.
I called up US Bank Underwriting this morning and spoke to a great guy who was confused at why the increase did not go through. He did re-confirm income, rent, and additional income and mentioned that he would have to do a HP from TransUnion and I agreed.
A few minutes later he comes back and says he was able to increase my limit to $15,000 effective immediately due to my history with the bank and apologized for the hassle. Now THAT made me celebrate thanks to everyone here!!
Congrats great results!
