Should I app for Chase Freedom??

So here is the deal. I am fairly new to the credit world after swearing off credit for years. My cards with CL are below. I have about 4 months of history on each of these cards at the moment as I got them all this past February. I checked Chase's prequal site and was approved for the Freedom and Slate. I prefer the Freedom but I am hesitant to apply this early since my history is very short. What are my chances? What say you?

Re: Should I app for Chase Freedom??

Looking at your current limit with Amex, and given your short history, Chase can be a hit or miss, given they usually like to see 6-12 months of established history. But, they also like to see a clean short history. If you are pre approved I'd say your chances are very good. Can we get a bit more detail? Like fico score, derogs, inquires, since Chase has been recently super sensitive about accounts being opened, would be helpful!

Right now, apply and report back.   A pre-approval on the site is solid. Slay itSmiley Happy..

Re: Should I app for Chase Freedom??

I have absolutely no derogs. Like i said earlier, my file is clean. My utilization at the moment across the board is 1% - 2% and i always pay the balance in full. My income is about 68k a year. I have no relationships with Chase at the moment so I have no idea if that will affect it. As far as scores, I have not generated a FICO yet since I am still new. But CK gives me scores of 730 and I know those should be taken with a grain of salt. I have about 5 CC INQs each this year on both TU and EQ. But probably an additional 4 on each from last year but those are for utilities and an apt search when I moved last year. The INQ kind of worry me and are making me think twice.

Re: Should I app for Chase Freedom??

I was prequal'd but still not instant approval. Kind of in the same boat with limited card history. Started with two secureds late last  year, graduated to 2 unsecureds this week, including a Chase Amazon card. Decided the Freedom would be my next target, and also decided to go ahead and try for it now, as I need to batten down the hatches for a mortgage next year and thus won't want to be doing this six months down the road. Guess I need to find a number to call, sigh. Or maybe I should just take this as a hint that I'm just not shiny enough for instant approvals yet and get back in the garden as planned. I dunno.
