I am somewhat shocked this morning! A brief history first ...
I filed CH 13 BK in 2010 after struggling through the 2008 recession with a business. I included Chase in the BK for $6K. Fast forward to now, my reports are all clean (EX 824, TU 816, EQ 828) and life is much better, I have learned a lot in the last 7 years and will never be in the position I was in prior to BK, financially.
After seeing other successful posts here on the forums with people getting back in with Chase recently, I wanted to try my own luck. The CSR fits my spending habits so I gave it a shot (long shot) late last month. I received an initial 30 day notice, then the robolady was giving me a 7-10 day notice a couple days later. I waited out the notification letter to find out my EQ was still frozen.
I waited for a while, wondering if this was a good sign that I may be able to get back in since there was no mention of previous bad accounts, just the frozen report. I just got around to unfreezing the EQ report this week and decided to call Chase up since I had 30 days to do so, according to the letter. I called the Lending department directly, the nice lady verified my information, put me on a 30 second hold to check the report. I was fully prepared to answer questions about my rebuild, the previous chase account, all of that. Well, when she came back, she simply said I was approved for $34K and asked if there was anything else she could assist with. I kinda choked a little, and said eh, no thanks I am good!
Thank you, Chase! This will be my new daily driver and very happy to be back in!! Now to work on AMEX, they haven't been as generous!
Congratulations on your approval. Nice SL.!!
Was this a cold app, or did you get a preual on the Chase site ?
I am in similar situation - filed Ch 13 in June 2010, Chase was IIB.
Thanks.

I've never shown a prequalified anything on their site, so cold app.
A little more information, I have a checking account with them, but it's not my primary checking account. I also have my mortgage through Chase. I'm not sure they look at those things for consideration though. Good luck if you decide to app!
I believe that Chase does take relationship into consideration...at least that is what I was told by them..
Congrats! on a banner approval with the way back in to Chase again.

Good shock I guess. To a certain extent, high CL is not worth much these days. Congrats.
there have been a couple post over the last few weeks that have talked about how people that were once 'blacklisted' AMEX got in no problem, just a heads up!
edit: congrats on the nice SL btw OP!
I couldn't care less about the SL really, just happy to be back in!
