I have a bunch of new accounts opened within the past 2 years, and when I say a lot, I mean a BUNCH! Which of course means I have a bunch of inquiries. It's almost embarrassing -- I think I have like 15 new accounts, now 17. I'm planning a vacation and wanted to apply for the Hyatt card. Based on what I've read, this card isn't part of the 5/24, otherwise, I wouldn't have wasted an inquiry. So I app'd and boom, I was approved with a limit of $18k.
3 hours after, I went on the forum and saw different posts that if you apply for a 2nd card the same day, Chase wouldn't run another inquiry... so, I applied for another card, the Disney with no annual fee. I was expecting a denial... and boom, another approval with a limit of $13k, but when I looked online, the limit was set at $9k. I kind of wished I applied for the one with an annual fee of $50 so I could get a $200 credit as opposed to a $50 credit. But that's OK, the card will probably never be used, although the Darth Vader design is really intriguing. So I may use it when I feel like dorking it out.
Here are key points:
You may ask, why all the new accounts? It's this forum's fault I've gotten free airline tickets, free hotels, and bunch of cash back rewards of over $1,500 within the past year. But definitely, I know that I need to be gardening for the next year.
Thanks for sharing! Your Post was very helpful!! Congrats on all your Approvals!!
Congrats on your double Chase approval!! Those seem to be a rarer thing around here lately.
Congratulations on your double approval and single HP! Join us in the garden and let those inquiries fall off. That is exactly what I am doing now. It feels so good to see them drop from your credit reports.

Here are key points:
- Pulled Experian, just one inquiry from them for both cards.
- Mega inquiries within the past year, but 4 within the past 6 months.
- Owe ~2,000 / with an aggregate available limit of ~ $205k. I do the whole AZEO thing, just having one account report a balance.
- @Anonymous Vantage @ 705, FICO 9 @ 688, FICO 8 @ 660. Score is really hit hard with all the new accounts
- Have 2 other cards with Chase, in which both are PIF if ever used (Amazon and IHG).

Congrats on the double approval and the nice limits!! You "might" see a second HP from Chase. They seem to like double pulls.
Congratulations on your approvals. And also kudos to you for having the guts to go for both the same day. That is just fantastic.
