Graduated: Bank of America Cash Rewards BankAmericard

[ Edited ]

Goodbye Secured BankAmericard Cash Rewards Platinum Plus Visa

Hello Unsecured BankAmericard Cash Rewards Platinum Plus Visa

Backdoor number that got it done: A 16 minute phone call to 800-824-5895.

1 Year, 5 Days, 7 Hours. That's how long it took to get to this point. I've never been late and have carried a balance one time. Made $144.55 in rewards from 3-2-1 program.

$300 was my collateral and never bothered to increase it. After graduating the card the analyst gave me a bump to $2500, although I didn't attempt to recon that after the he told me.

Anyways, BofA sucks as a bank but is great as a creditor.

Re: Graduated: Bank of America Cash Rewards BankAmericard

Congratulations! Glad to see more forum members advancing through their credit goals.

I would just like to offer that differentiating a "bank" and a "creditor" as you did is contrary to the operations of a significant majority of banking institutions worldwide. Banks throughout time have gathered deposits and made loans - they are therefore almost always used both as secure investment houses, and as creditors.

You may be referring to a difference in service between BofA's retail deposit operations and their retail credit operations, but their operations as a "bank" have a heck of a lot to do with their presence as a "creditor".

In My Wallet: Amex BCP (12/12) $32,000, Chase Freedom (12/12) $16,500, Citi Forward (12/12) $14,600, Cap1 Quicksilver (6/12) $14,000, Barclaycard Rewards (5/13) $10,500, Citi Thank You Premier (6/15) $6,800
