Interesting Chase App/Approval

Have been reading these forums for a few weeks (primarily CSP/Chase threads) and with a lot of the feedback i've seen given to prospecting applicants it has me wondering about how i myself was approved.

Background:

Had some student loan issues with a joint account in 2015/2016 which caused missed paments and used a debit card only for probably longer than i should have.  Got my first card in Dec 2016, Secured Cap1 with a $200 limit.  Paid a few times a month and put probably 600-800 a month thru it before i apped and got the secured Bofa (horrible) card in March.  PIF both cards and in August 2017 apped and got the qs1 which ive primarily used to date.

This month was interested in CSP and saw that i was pre-approved with a locked in APR, apped and was approved for 9k.

My profile at the time of application

Cap1 secured: $500

QS1: $750

BofA Secured: $300

Income: $112k

Scores range from 630-645.

I see a lot of people being discouraged from apping due to not being a previous Chase customer or this being their first $5k+ CL, and this has be wondering why i was approved and at that for $9k? Any thoughts? although im not complaining, only trying to get my case out there for others to see.

Re: Interesting Chase App/Approval

AAoA is decent at 12 months and income is pretty high. If you PIF your cards every month I guess overall Chase felt pretty good about you.

You should be able to see that grow if you keep doing what you doing.
