I started working on building my credit back up August of last year. At that time my scores were under 500 (auto lender pull), and I started with a secured credit card and a used auto loan with 24.x% interest. Since then I traded the vehicle for a new one in May with 16.89% through Chrysler Capital. This past week I decided to check my EQ score through here and found it was getting better, so I decided to try several apps. There have been a few denials and 7 day messages, though here are the instant approvals:
BarclayCard: $1300
Amazon Store Card: $800
Walmart Store Card: $500
Express Credit Card: $250
My CU already has a copy of my report from a refinance request I made, so I will ask them about a CLI on the secured card (the refi was approved at 12%, though for 6K under the current balance, so that will have to wait.)
I'm excited, a little more positive reinforcement
I tried to recon Gap and BestBuy, but both only got me "It was denied, you will get a letter..." I haven't tried Pier 1, though I haven't seen a good # for them either. I plan on calling Discover tomorrow about the Student it card.
Welcome to the forum. It feels good to get steps going in the right direction. Thanks for sharing Congrats !
Congrats!!! I know Wally & Express will grow w/ you quickly, let them age well.
Thanks! I tried several recons today with no success, I've got several baddies from 3+ years ago.
After I talk with the CU I'll wait a while and let things grow.
Congrats on the cards, but that APR on the car loan.... Ouch. I'd look at refinancing in the future.
Congarts on the new cards
Welcome to the forums and congrats on your newly acquired TLs!
Thanks!
I know the APR sucks on the car, though it's better than the previous one. I'd like to get it refinanced, though it will probably be a while before I can do that. The best offer I've had so far is 12%, though I'd have to pay down the balance roughly 6K. I may try one more place before gardening for a while.
