Amex ED Contactless does exist!

Finally the third time is a charm.  After two previously failed attempts I got my ED in the contactless version.  So it does exist if anyone was curious.  EMV chip is just a bit bigger for whatever reason.  Don't know how often I will use this feature, but knowing it existed and not having it bugged me..

YAY! I was hoping to see a 2nd one of these! Friend said he had one but had yet to see proof. We all know it SAYS its available but its like pulling teeth to get one!  Guess my scratched up ED could be replaced!

I just ordered an AU card. Will be curious to see if it comes contactless.

Neat. Didn't know contactless was being rolled out. What other issuers are supporting contactless?

Gotta ask for it... It is like pulling teeth with them to get the right request in!  I think they don't like issuing them for whatever reason whether it is cost or what not?  Eventually I used the word contact less and it seemed to work.

In the US?  Other than some of the Amex cards, just Diner's club that I know of, others might know of others

Isn't contactless less secure than EMV though?

Dunno to be honest, but I am not liable.. I have heard that is possibly the case why they don't but contactless is huge outside the US so I think that is an urban myth.  The US is just behind on CC technology such as chip and pin, etc. for whatever reason.  Guess cause we are so vast compared to the smaller countries in Europe?  Who knows.  The costs are to great to upgrade thus the issuers just eat the fees if fraud occur as it is cheaper?

Re: Amex ED Contactless does exist!

Barclay Ring tested contactless in the past with some of their members, but I don't think it is generally available now. My recently acquired Ring does not have the contactless logo, just EMV.

I just checked my wallet to see if any of my cards have the contactless logo. Apparently the only contactless card I do have is Chase Freedom. But it's a non-EMV card, acquired almost 3 years ago and due to expire next month.

Ya saw the old ring had the logo on some of the cards, but I never got one...  Guessing they aren't avilable anymore.. Also guessing the freedom is no longer available.. That is interesting info on the Freedom.
