CSP Help Please!!!

Hey guys Im very new so sorry if this is the wrong topic or place to ask this in.

So I applied for a Chase Sapphire Preferred CC on 8/21/14. I was denied via mail about 7 days later. They said I had a collections account and not long enough revolving credit account. I called the recon. line twice and no luck :/.

So I was wondering what should I do to get this card? I really want this for many reasons and it will be a good fit for me!

When I applied I had 702 TU score. I had 1 account in collections for $92 and my AMEX Everyday Card was open in April of 2014. The limit was $4000 at that time. I have no missed payments at all. Plenty of Instalment loans as well.

Since then I removed the collections account as it was an error and my score went up a lot. I also increased my AMEX card to $5000. My EQ is now 720 EX 749 and my TU is 733. I also have a recent auto lease and that was added on my report after I applied. I also added a Chase Total Checking account.

So my questions is should I wait till my 6 month anniversary with my AMEX card to apply again? or should I wait longer? Im also interested in the Marriott Premier Rewards CC by Chase. Feel free to ask me any questions you might need from me! Thanks for the help guys!

Re: CSP Help Please!!!

See if they can look into it again since the collection is gone, explain that it was an error and was removed. They may have to pull credit again but you are within 30 days.

Re: CSP Help Please!!!

You are in the right track, you score are in good shape, but I think you should wait a little bit more,  CSP is one of the top CC for Chase and they like to see history on your credit report. Chase usually double pull for CSP

Re: CSP Help Please!!!

If they want to see more history garden until they have an offer on their pre approval page. From what I have read the pre approvals are rock solid in most cases. Good Luck in your journey and remember credit isn't a race you have to prove yourself.

I don't think that is particularly true.  It seems that Chase double pull for certain people (including me) on any app, and single pull for others.  Haven't heard of cases where in a fairly short time period Chase single-pulled for card X and double pulled for CSP

Re: CSP Help Please!!!

I did. I called the recon line right after I go declined and right after I removed the collections account. They only had the report from when I applied, so I dont know if they believe me about getting the collections account removed.

You might need to re-apply because if they have your original app, nothing would have changed.

I got double pulled for my freedom and single pulled for my CSP which in my opinion should be the other way around, but thats how it went for me.

Re: CSP Help Please!!!

The only way for them to see that the collection is gone is for them to repull your credit, they can do that either by you calling and asking them to, or by you reapplying. In the mean time, I would just wait.

Build some history, and get all those sp Amex CLIs, and you might end up with a higher starting limit on the csp.

Re: CSP Help Please!!!

Thanks for the advice guys. Really do appreciate it!

I think I will garden (let my CC age) (correct me if I am wrong please) and then apply a couple months down the road.
