Depsite what some of the Client Relations (front line) people may say and how they advertise it, Capital One secured cards will NEVER graduate to an unsecured card. I spoke to an extremely pleasant woman on the Retention Line and she said they stopped doing that for awhile (she even got off the phone to double check this info and came back). She stated that my secured card will only be that until I apply for another one of their cards. So now I'm wondering, should I just close it out get my cash deposits back and simply utilize my other cards that actually offer me rewards?? I've had it for about 2 years and didn't want to lose the history. Will closing it affect my score? Sorry if someone has already posted this info but I haven't seen it anywhere.
