Chase Freedom

Today I received my Chase freedom with CL $2600, not bad, anyway this is my first reward card. This replaces my wamu $4000 CL card.

anway,
The name on the card is not correct. The first name does not have the last 2 alphabets.

My Firstname has 12 alphabets, but the name on the card has only 10 alphabets.

I am not sure if this is a mistake or the first name with chase can not be more than 10 alphabets?

So anyone with chase freedom (or any chase card) with first name more than 10 alphabets?

Thanks.

Re: Chase Freedom

I'd call and ask them how many characters can appear in the first name field. I suppose it's possible that they limit it to 10, although that's pretty tight for several common names.

I'll leave it to others to report if they've had problems. Luckily, my real name only has 5 letters, because I doubt that haulingthescoreup would fit anywhere at all. Smiley Tongue

Re: Chase Freedom

Thanks hauling,

I dont have any problem using the card with the wrong name, I am worried on certain transactions where they request for ID. They might not do the transaction if the name is not the same. (I know they are not required to check ID as per Visa-Trader agreement).

Also Will it have any possible problem with the Fico reporting with mismatched names?

Re: Chase Freedom

I'd say that in real world, you'll be OK.

And when you pull your FICO scores, they are actually crunched by the CRA's off of their full reports, so as long as myFICO has your name right, and the CRA's have your name right, you'll be OK. You might check your Chase online statement to see if it displays your full name.

My kids drive me nuts, in that they have their nicknames rather than their full first names on a few of their cards, but they've never had problems.

Re: Chase Freedom

Thanks Hauling,

I think I was upset too early, I called the number to activate the card, an Indian CSR picked up the call ( I am Indian too ), He quickly identified that the name is incorrect and fixed it. I should get the new card in another 5-7 days.

Time to enjoy my first rewards card, My patience for waiting for the freedom card has paid off.

Re: Chase Freedom

Congrats! I thought that 10 letters seemed too small of a field.
