DW options...

OK, simply put, I am firmly in the garden, but DW is not.

She just got another invite to apply for Citi's TYP. (with zero percent on BT's for 18 months.)

We're also looking at the new BofA Better Balance Rewards card...

I think that she's right on the line of qualifying for both of these cards...EX right at 660, TU at 642.

Her utilization is steadily coming down...43 percent overall...she had a STACK of inq's last April that will be more than a year old as of the first of May, leaving one on EX and two on TU (in the last year.)

I'm looking right now to make sure that she has ZERO cards "maxed" out, and am debating applying for one or both of these cards for her next month.

Your thoughts?

04/01/24 Fico 8: EX 763, EQ 799, TU 783.
Fico 9: EX 756 03/13/24, EQ 790 02/04/24, TU No idea.

Zero percent financing is where the devil lives...

Re: DW options...

sounds like she is in a bit of a precarious position. 43% is still high util and the high number of inquiries aren't a good sign either.

Whether she should attempt these cards depends on what yours & her goals are with getting these cards.

In an ideal world, your number one priority would simply be to pay down the util to 0%, but if you strategically want to shift current balances to 0% because you both don't think you can get the util down any time soon, then that makes strategic economic sense.

I would highly reocmmend against getting the new cards just because she got preapprovals.

This is one of those topics where more details on your situation and goals would gain more pointed advice.
