Help me stay in the Garden... (Diners Club related)

I just went into the Garden a few days ago but I'm having a hard time convincing myself not to apply for Diner's Club... The one thing that keeps me from doing it is that I cannot justify the AF. I have a feeling I'm going to come across another success story and just say F-it and apply.

Where's my support group!? Smiley Very Happy

GET BACK IN THE GARDEN!!!!!  If you question the annual fee and whether it is worth it for your spend, then leave it alone for now.  Do NOT make me put up an electric fence!!!!!

Besides the WEMC logo and the AF what benefits does this card offer over the Premiere? Your statement has been my mindset.

Re: Help me stay in the Garden... (Diners Club related)

This is me, helping you stay in the garden...please remember, you asked.

Gardening is a decision NOT to apply for new lines of credit.  Period.  You're going to see lots of options and opportunities to apply for the next bigger better credit card.

Why are you in the garden?  Have you accomplished what you set out to?

Gardening is also a means to an end.  If applying for the new card will earn or save you dollars, it might make sense for you.

Whatever you decide, don't decide in a hurry.  Diners club will still be there next week....and so will the garden.

I think the difference would be the rewards, with 300 annual fee and fancy WEMC logo, you get Earn 3 points per dollar spent at gas stations, grocery stores, and drug stores, while 95 annual fee premier is 1 points per dollar spent for every purchase.

Re: Help me stay in the Garden... (Diners Club related)

If you just went into the garden, that implies you think you've had enough applications recently and it is bad form to do too many HP.

So by applying for DC, you force the situation of "too many HP", find out if anything materializes from it, and have two possible outcomes:

1) You DON'T get a card, get a denial, and learn that, yes you did too many recent applications, then you will be able to garden without remorse.

2) You DO get a card, determine that it's probably a good credit limit, and can relax and garden without remorse.

Is that helping you to not apply? Smiley Happy
