Man - I got to stop!

Please feel free to yell at me! This credit stuff is addicting!  Smiley Happy

I started with one CC in my name only, Best Buy Store card with a limit of $5400.00.

This is after closing around 60 accounts over the years (I am older). Man, if I had only left those accounts open! I would run them up, pay them down and close them as I could not control my credit life. This has all changed now.

Since then, in the last 60 days:

1. Amex Zync - approved, no limit and will approve $25k per test link.

2. Barclay iTunes Rewards - approved, $2200 limit.

3. Discover - approved, $1500 limit.

4. Target Red Card - approved, $2500 limit.

5. Amex . Costco - approved $10k limit.

6. PayPal Connect - approved, $800 limit,

7. Home Depot Store card - approved, $2000 limit.

Joint with my lovely Bride:

1. PenFed - approved, $20k limit.

2. USAA MC - CLI to $30k.

Declines:

1. Chase Freedom - tried a recon but no luck.

2. Citi Forward - did not try a recon.

3. Cap One Venture - did not try a recon.

So, no fun for me for the next two or so years. But, I do have a chance to really garden these cards now to see what I can build them up to!

Please yell at me to STOP!

Thanks!

Ray

PS: This is a really great board and my thanks for all that I have learned!

Then stop. It's not hard to do.

Stop!!!!

How's that? Smiley Wink

Seriously, don't freak out PenFed or any of the others, because they'll all start softing you. Keep everything at $0, at least for a while.

Get yourself a gnome statue to protect your new accounts and start gardening. No, that's not a hint to get a Travelocity card, either. Smiley Very Happy

Re: Man - I got to stop!

Thanks hauling! I needed that RED slap!  Smiley Happy

I know, I need to lay low for a while now and PIF each month. I acutally do this each week. I run a tight budget and each of the charges are budgeted amounts, Each Sunday morning, I use USAA Bill Pay and send them full payment on what was charged the week prior. Seems to be working out quite well so far.

Every card has a "job" around here.

Mid to upper 700's on each.

I am sure I will take a hit short-term but that''s fine with me for now.

Re: Man - I got to stop!

Keep your eyes on that Barclays account.  If you notice them softing your report several times in a single month, that means they're about to close it without notice and they don't reopen.  They don't like newly opened accounts after they've approved you.

Re: Man - I got to stop!

Will do - I have read they are sensitive to that. I appreciate the advice!

Barclay's pays my USAA insurance bill each month, that is all they are used for right now. I figured I hit them up for a CLI i 6 months or so..

I am now officially in GARDEN mode!
