NFCU FROZE ALL MY ACCOUNT!!!

NFCU Froze all my accounts including 3 credit cards, NAVCHECK and a personal loan. I got the message late and was able to find one person left in the security department who told me i was not eligible for membership??? i said a member lives with me and i actually supported him til he left for the Marines basic training in Parris Island SC, she said it had to be a father, mother, grand father or grand mother and that all my accounts will close and i could go withdraw my balance at a branch?!?! Im confused?!! and now i spoke to a CSR and he said there was a hold and no sign of closure and that they need to verify membership/

Per their eligibility checklist you can be a household member however, it says you must reside at the same address as the member. Did he sign up for NFCU while he was in the delayed entry program or after he left for boot camp?

He signed up over 2 years ago and i signed up 2 months ago. He has bills at my address. and there is also another member who signed up with them after me with my address.

Hmm...but he isn't currently living with you? I'm not sure how exactly they dictate a household member but I'd assume that if you signed up with him while you were living with him at the same address you'd be okay. The way I'm reading it is, that If you're not currently living with him at the same address and contributing to the overall economic stability of the household then you're not eligible.

That's just my opinion, can you still log in and send a secure message explaining the situation?

Sorry to hear..I too had a similar situation happen to me. I posted a thread about it. My family member was asked for proper documents to support eligibility. A quick trip to a branch, told them the names of persons who qualified and they did the leg work. Nothing but kudos for NFCU. There customer service is excellent and even better when your face to face. Hopefully everything works out for you. Good luck.
