Re: Ok, so what to shoot for in the future

Well, my go to card is the Blue Cash, but if it wasn't it would be the Sallie Mae.   Not sure if Barclays has a hard limit on cards.

What people call "Old Blue Cash". 5% groceries. gas and drug stores after $6,500 spend per year.

In private browsing, not logged in, go the the Blue Cash Everyday page.  There is a link there "Looking for an older version of..." (or some such wording)

Easiest way is statement credit.  Every 2,500 points ($500 spend) you can redeem $25.   Also, they often provide bonus offers, so currently  I get an additional 2% on groceries, msking it 7% (the bonus applying to the first $1,250 in spending)

Edit: oh groceries was last quarter, this quarter it's 7% on gas.

whoa hold up, what?  what are these bonus offers?

I'd shoot for erasing the Visa Black card.  That is one of the worst credit cards you can have.
