Tribute

Can someone explain this to me, I just paid my current balance off at $362.24 & the payment posted today & now it's showing a minimum payment of $2.26 ? How in heck can they try that when I just paid the entire balance off before the next statement would have come out ? I made the payment online so, if anyone had the same problem I would appreciate some input. Granted it's only $ 2.26 left but, I don't know where they are coming up with that. Thanks in advance.

Re: Tribute

Well, I ended up calling customer service to get to the bottom of this. The man named Ryan told me that it was a computer error & that the $2.26 will be taken off in 2 business days. I told him what about the online fee you normally charge & he said they stopped charging that fee as of Feb. 22 ! I'm assuming that has something to do with the new credit card laws. Anyway, he said the account is paid off totally now & it'll show that in 2 business days. I told him I don't expect them to try & nickle & dime me for everything they can get & he assures me that my original payment of $362.24 is the entire balance paid in full. I mentioned that if it's not off in those 2 business days I'll contact the banking commission & the fair credit act if it's not taken care of. LOL, I don't honestly know if either of those would help me if it was needed but, it felt good to give them firm notice if they try to screw me over.Funny thing is, they always posted my payments the same day & showed the correct balance so,I told him it seems a little strange that they can't take it off right away since they got paid in full. We'll see what happens. By the way, it was a American I spoke to for once & not edited!! It feels good to finally have these jokers paid off & and no lates with them since I had the card. It does help out with the positive trade line.

Re: Tribute

Hello,

Glad to here a couple of things; 1) you've paid of your Tribute card, and 2) they've agreed to credit your acct. the $2.26.

Furthermore, If I were you I'd be moreso concerned about the credit of the prorated AF to your acct., (if they hadn't already done so.)

In my experience with Tribute closing my acct. (back in Sept.) I was told the only way to get my protated AF credited was to mail or fax them

stating I'd like to receive it, otherwise I wouldn't get it.  After all the monthly fees I paid them,  I didn't think twice about it to get my $70 bucks back!

eta: No, I didn't get the same situation once I paid my Tribute off in December.

Re: Tribute

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. This email is in response to your recent inquiry.

We understand your concern regarding the balance. We show that your account is currently closed. We have received your payment of $362.24 on 03/05/2010. The current balance on the account is $2.26. Our records indicate a interest charge on cash advance fee of $2.26 was charged to your account on 03/07/2010. When you withdraw a cash advance, you are assessed an up front fee and cash advance finance charges which accrue interest daily.

We have waived the balance of $2.26 on your account. The credit will appear on your next statement.

We appreciate and value your business. Please let us know if you have any further questions regarding your account.

Thank you for contacting Customer Service.
This is the email they sent me. I haven't a clue how they said I had a cash advance considering the account has been closed for sometime now. Unreal.
