Does it matter what material it is made out of? Aren't credit/charge cards only for convenience anyway? I don't care if I wave my smart phone over the reader. I just don't want to have to carry a wad of cash with me.
Of course the material doesn't make a difference, a credit card is a credit card it has one purpose--to make purchases. However being a credit connoisseur I find cards that are aesthetically pleasing to the eye quite fascinating.
I want the CSP for the metal and I want a card that is clear/see-through which if I am not mistaken, is some sort of AMEX card?
Amex Everyday is a nice card that is see-through and very pleasing to the eye.
Agreed.
So is the Blue Sky Preferred.
I am not sure if this holds true to just the BCE or also the Blue Sky but I don't like how you can see the signature panel sticking out on one side though the card. The Everday has the panel hidden behind the center of the card. Imagine if the ED didn't have the chip. *shivers* haha

There are many, many more qualities of credit card/bank that are more important than the material used but I won't discount its value. I have owned the Barclay Arrival+ for less than 1 year but I am already on my 3rd card. While made of sturdier-than-average plastic, it does not stand a chance against the yahoos that firmly hold it till it bends and quickly swipe it through the card machine like they are trying to cut through an overcooked piece of steak. Do I consider card material a significant attribute when apping? Of course not - Customer service and rewards reigns supreme...but having a card that cracks is just downright annoying as heck.
It is very strange that a higher-end AF card like the Barclay Arrival+ is not made of metal or some other reinforced material. It has some cool *shimmering* graphics (emphasis on shimmering ), but it could definitely use some additional backbone.
It's one of the better looking cards out there right now IMO
I too love my Arrival card. But, I have only had it for two months and it looks like I've had it for two years. It is not the sturdiest plastic. My Discover is shiney plastic, but it is a rock.

Damn straight. Must be made of the same stuff our Barclay Rewards is made of. Have had it since May and i've got 2yr old cards that are in better shape

It's plastic and matte, like the SWA RR card, except for a sort of shimmery Milky Way like graphic on the front.
Does this help with what was originally posted by the members on this thread and who prefers Metal/Clear CCs?
I wish the arrival+ was made out of metal. my card reminds kind of how the Chase Slate card feels.
