another collection question

On 11/28/2007 sent a letter PFD to collection agency.

On 12/05/2007 received the following reply:  To whom it may concern:  This letter is to inform you that once account xxxxx for xxxx is paid in full, the account will be removed from your credit report.  Signed by (name of the person) operations manager

I sent a cashier check the very same day, so I am assuming they would have received by no later than 12/08.

On 12/18/2007 received the following reply:  Dear xxxx.  Plese accept this letter as confirmation that the balance for the acount xxxxx has now been paid in full and now shows a 0 balance.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.

If you have any questions, you may contact xxxxx sincerely ________ (no name) Account specialists

As of today, the account is still there on my credit report.  No mention on deleting it like previous stated.  Should I be concerned or was this just a friendly thank you generic note???  what happens if they don't hold up and remove it???

Thanks

You are covered. They stated in first letter that they will remove it. It does take time.

I would disput it will all CRAs that are reporting it.

IF it comes back verified then I would send a copy of their letter back to them ALONG with a ITS letter.
