Mailed off FTHB and 2009 taxes on 3/15/10...

2/3/10 - Closed on home

2/26/10 - Mailed federal return via certified mail

3/1/10 - IRS signed for return

3/18/10 - IRS changed status on website "Where is My Refund" that they processing my refund and if no further info is needed, I should receive refund 4/20/10.

3/15/10-Filed tax return, mailed to office in Austin, TX

No info available yet on irs website.

I just read that you certified mail your taxes to IRS.  Damn!! I didn't know I could do that because it was a P.O. Box. Crap!! I would have done that had I known!!   I sent my to Kansas.

IRS recived 02-01-2010           2009 amended tax return for  fthbtc  8000.00 tax credit

called today and still not in there system.    3-10-2010

I guess I still have 6-7 more weeks to wait.

Also sent to Atlanta Ga

UPDATE  called 3-18-2010 and IRS said processing. 

I will keep you updated as I find out more

Finally an update

Sent to IRS certified mail

recvd on 3/2/10

Today 3/18/2010 IRS site now says should receive refund on April 20th if they don't need any other documents.

Here's my timeline:

Closed: Nov 9th, 2009

Mailed 2009 taxes w/ credit: Jan 15th, 2010 (sent return receipt requested)

Irs signed for: Jan 19th, 2010

checked WMR site: about 6wks later. said if no errors  deposit on Mar 16th, 2010.

Checked WMR site: about 1 wk later. said if no errors  deposit Mar 30th, 2010.

Checked WMR site: said return rcvd, being reviewed and i would receive a letter with more info.

Received letter: March 20th, 2010. Said no info needed at this time, will receive refund or more correspondence within 45 days of the date of the letter(Mar 15th, 2010).

Spoke with Irs representative: Mar 22nd, 2010: Said tax return was rcvd by them FEB 24TH, 2010!!! I said no, was signed for on jan 19th! she said didnt start processing until the 24th. bc they wouldnt even look at returns claiming the credit until Feb 15th. Told her i had rcvd this letter and she said that was to just notify me of the holdup on my refund. She then said I would be receiving ANOTHER letter dated March 19th, 2010, telling of the results of the examination/review. which could possibly mean they are finished with it and everything is fine, or they could be requesting more info from me. Other than that I will just have to wait the processing time (6-8wks) from Feb 24th.

I will update when I know more. Sorry some much info, but I just wanted to make sure I included everything.

I closed Nov 9.

Mailed 2008 amended return 22 Jan.

IRS received 26 Jan.

Showed up in the IRS system around 11 Mar but refund date was not showing yet.

Called 18 Mar and told my check would be mailed 26 Mar.

Mailed off FTHB and 2009 taxes certified mail on 3/15/10...

Recieved  at IRS on 3/16/10

On 3/24/10 checked site and if no problems,

Will receive on 4/27/10....
