I've got an offer and acceptance in principle, but the seller (understandably) won't officially accept without an official pre-approval letter.
Does anyone know how I can get one fast? I've had all my materials to the mortgage lender I spoke to for a week, but it still hasn't come through. She said that I'll be pre-approved, but it just takes a while because it's an FHA.
Any merit to that? Or do posters here know of a fast way to get a pre-approval letter?
I can't lose this house over this - it's PERFECT!
The pre-approval letter should only take an hour. I went to 2 lenders (one was PHH Mortgage and one was a mortgage broker) and both were able to give me an pre-approval letter in less than 1 hour. The real approval is the one that take 2 weeks. I'm surprise that your realtor didnt advise you to obtain the pre-approval letter before showing.
Pre-approval letter takes a couple minutes
I got a preapproval from wells fargo in about twenty minutes total from placing the call to recieving the letter in my email.
