Getting ready for prequalification

My husband and I are looking to purchase a home in May 2008. I have some medical collections-totalling about 500 dollars, and 2 CC that are in collection and expected to fall off with in about 8 months.

I have been working on improving my scores for about a year, and have achieved about a 60 point increase with in that year.  My equifax is at 609 FICO as of today.  I am ready to prequalify, but I am getting extremely nervous.  I have been waiting for my own home for a long while.

Do you think that the accounts mentioned above will prohibit me from getting my dream home.

What should I do.

Re: Getting ready for prequalification

Try and clean up all outstanding debt as best you can.  It will not increase your score by paying these, but it will make your report cleaner and show that you are trying to fulfill your previous obligations.  Getting closer to homeownership... Good for you.
